Steven Kahl, President and Chief Executive Officer has over 20 years experience in property and casualty insurance directly focused on healthcare professional liability and supporting ancillary lines of coverage. Steve worked for Sullivan, Kelly & Associates, a Los Angles based insurance brokerage specializing in healthcare professional liability insurance from 1987 to 1995. At Sullivan, Kelly, he was responsible for over 65 healthcare provider clients that included hospital systems, skilled nursing, assisted living care and medium to large size medical groups. He negotiated placement for all lines of insurance coverage, although he specialized in Healthcare Professional Liability and Director’s and Officer’s Liability.

From 1995 through 1999, Steve was appointed Vice President and the Western Regional Director of Sales for MMI Companies responsible for the placement of Professional and General Liability, Director’s and Officer’s and Employment Practices Liability, and Managed Care Services Liability insurance. MMI Companies was an international risk services company with more than 20 years of experience providing products and services for the healthcare industry. Its products and services include clinical risk management and operational consulting services, and insurance and reinsurance in the United States and London markets. MMI represented over 600 hospitals and healthcare systems in the United States. MMI was acquired by St. Paul in 1999.

In 2000, Steve and Stan Okinaka established Kahl Insurance Services, LLC. Steve is a regular speaker on topics relating to Captive Insurance Companies & Emerging Trends as well as other topics relating to Medical Malpractice Insurance.
