Risks & Claims Management

Risk Management is a distinctive service of Kahl Insurance Services. We work closely with each client to create a tailored risk management program. These programs are designed to address problems at their onset, at the clinical source. The goal is to integrate risk modification programs into the management strategy of the organization, including all operational areas that support the clinical care environment.

Ultimately, a well-designed risk management program allows a healthcare organization to manage risks and improve outcomes by modifying systems and behaviors. This is accomplished by translating clinical practice and outcome data into meaningful strategies to change behavior and reduce clinical risk.

Our Risk Services are designed to complement those services provided by individual carriers and ensure that expertise and support are available that extend far beyond clinical risk exposures. In recognition of our ability to provide high quality risk services, both large self-insured health systems and independent healthcare organizations have contracted with us exclusively for this program.

How We Deliver

We offer phone, email and on-site consultant support. We also offer high quality educational programs to supplement your internal offerings. We will partner with you to tailor services and programs to meet your specific needs.

In addition, we offer our services for claims management issues as they occur during the course of each policy period. We ask our participating carriers of high exposure coverages to meet with our client and us quarterly to review any claims activity during that period. This allows us to note and discuss any changes in reserving patterns or status of open claims that may have a financial impact to clients. We will also work directly with each carrier to identify and analyze loss trending, frequency and severity patterns, and any coverage interpretations specific to claims resolution, if necessary.

Finally, we contract with independent consultants for any other related consulting services, including actuarial or claims management services, if warranted. We feel that contracting with independents, which are recognized as specialists in their respective fields, provides an extra dimension to our clients by providing unfiltered information and opinions to assist us in developing appropriate conclusions and to assist our clients in achieving an informed decision.
